Is my credit card number secure when I book online?
Yes, all online bookings are handled via a secure server with Thwarte SSL encryption technology.
If I make an internet booking will I receive any tickets?
No, you will receive an on screen booking reference number
which will also be sent by email. When you arrive at your port of departure present your booking reference number with a photo ID and you will be given your tickets.
How do I know which ferry company I am booking with?
Once you have made your booking you will receive your on screen and email booking confirmation. This includes ferry operating company, port address and check in time.
Do I need to take my passport with me?
For all international ferry crossings every passenger must have their passport with them. For domestic crossings a form of photo ID is accepted if a passport is not available.
How early do I need to check in?
Your precise check in time is detailed on your booking confirmation (on screen and in the email) but as a general guideline, with most operators you need to arrive 60 minutes before for vehicle departures, 30 minutes for foot passengers.
If I arrive early can I go on board straight away?
No, you cannot board until check in opens.
I would like to make a booking without a car?
Select "Foot Passenger" from the Vehicle drop down at stage 2 of the booking process.
Are bookings transferable to another vehicle?
Yes, providing the dimensions are the same as the original.
Can I book if I don't know the car registration number?
Yes, just enter "Rental Car" in the vehicle Registration fields and expected size of car e.g. small, regular, mpv in the Make/Model fields.
If 4 people are travelling in the car should the passengers be driver+3 passengers or 4 passengers?
The number of passengers is the total number including the driver. In this example it is 4 passengers.
How do I get a price going out with 2 people and returning with just 1 person?
Due to limitations in the ferry operator reservation system this cannot be done as one booking. However, it is possible to do it as 2 separate bookings. For example:
1. First booking for 1 person return
2. Second booking for 1 person single.
Can I take my pet (cat or dog) on the ferry?
Not all ferry operators have the facility to take pets, therefore you will need to ring us on 08704 580401 or mail@aferry.to to confirm that they are able to take your pet, we can then add them to your booking (approx. £15 per pet per route). You will need to fully comply with the current PETS travel scheme when travelling within the EU to avoid your pet having to be put into quarantine. Information for people travelling with pets can be obtained from DEFRA

Depending on the ferry operator and route, your pet may have to remain in the car for the duration of the crossing with no passenger access.
